1. If a net replacement film is being used, make sure the film covers the edges of the bale. We recommend the use of a minimum of six layers of stretchfilm, together with the net replacement film.
2. When wrapping, make sure the center of the bale and the center of the stretch film roll are aligned. Especially with square bales this can be a challenge.
3. Do not prestretch the film more than the amount recommended by your machine supplier. Overstretching increases the risk of bad overlapping.
4. Take good care of the cutting device and check it regularly. If the equipment does not work well, it will cause long tails. This problem can be solved with a new knife.
5. To minimize the risk of water between the layers in square bales, make sure that the last layers are on the topside of the bale. There is a potential risk that water pockets will be created if the last layer is wrapped at the side of the bale.
6. After wrapping the bales should be moved to their final storage either immediately, or after 72 hours have passed from the time of wrapping.
7. To avoid birds attacking your bales, stack them as fast as possible and cover them with a protective net.
